Original images and a bit of a story
That's what my art is all about... it has to be original and it usually has a bit of a story. Doesn't matter if it's a big painting, a black and white drawing, a 3D piece, a rough sketch, or a loose watercolour of a special place...
I like my art to leave space for the viewer to find their own stories and reactions.
Water and moments
If I could paint and draw only one thing for the rest of my life, it would be water.
There's always a story with water...

the sound of waves breathing in and out

Studying how waves move has been a bit on an obsession since digital photography let me see water shapes we can never see with the human eye. Waves within seascapes, and a seascape within a tiny falling wave. Sheets of water splitting as they fall over an edge.
I like to paint and draw moments, little glimpses of life and imagination...
the effects of weather, old buildings, semi-abstract landscapes, interesting faces and figures, dreams and feelings, doodle shapes that come from within.
Just have a go, it's only a piece of paper. Might be useful in a future collage...

Current projects
Big stories appear in some pieces, such as my 10-8-6 series of paintings about a real-life, bravery-award-winning sea rescue by the RNLI and Coastguard helicopter in Cornwall. Force 10 storm, 8 young Frenchmen, only 6 lifejackets on board.
I've finished one painting of the yacht in peril, almost finished two more of the helicopter crew on scene, and I've got to develop and create two more paintings from the lifeboat.
I'll upload the work as it develops.
Learning & moving
Having learned to draw with perspective at the age of 6, Carole rejected art at school but went on to take numerous courses as an adult. This led to an MA in Fine Art (merit) in 2018-2020 at the University of Gloucestershire in Cheltenham.
Having moved to Cheshire in 2022, Carole is still developing her studio space, where she runs small workshop sessions to help other artists explore new media and methods. And the search goes on for more local art resources, specialist suppliers and exhibition opportunities.
